In addition to preserving Schmitts paintings, drawings and archives, the Carl Schmitt Foundation has an array of development plans. Compiling a catalogue raisonné of Schmitts works with reproductions is a priority, as is the continued search for the many works that remain lost or undiscovered.
The Foundation also seeks to encourage new scholarship and artistic development in keeping with Schmitts aesthetic vision. We hope to launch study days and study weeks for young artists, and in due time symposia and study sessions for art historians and scholars. This will mark the start of establishing the Foundations Study Center, based on our rich archive of Schmitts Studio Notes and other writings and our art library. We seek to establish research fellowships for graduate students of art history and aesthetics who can begin to explore the full depth of Schmitts vision of Putting Tradition into the Modern.
The Foundation needs your support to further the rich legacy of Carl Schmitt. If you have been enriched by his art and inspired by his life, there are many ways you can take part in the Foundations work:
